- How does Invisalign® work?
Invisalign® uses a series of clear, removable, and comfortable aligners to gradually move your teeth into the desired position. Invisalign® is made with 3D computer imaging technology and has been proven effective.
You wear each set of aligners for about 2 to 3 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position Dr. Fowler has prescribed.
- How many appointments do I need?
You’ll visit Dr. Fowler every six weeks to ensure your treatment is progressing as planned. The number of visits will vary from person to person.
- What can I eat and drink?
Anything!!! While we recommend healthy snacks, you can remove your aligners to enjoy any food or drink you like during your Invisalign® treatment.
- Is Invisalign® different to braces?
Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign® doesn’t use any metal or wires, but rather a series of clear removable aligners (similar to mouthguards). Invisalign® is far more discreet, requires less treatment time, and can produce results in a shorter period.
Both Invisalign® and braces have their advantages, which Dr. Fowler will explain during your consultation.
- How long does the treatment take?
Total treatment time averages between 9 to 15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment are between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.
